POTA court pronounces 10 out of 13 guilty in 2002-03 blasts in Mumbai

A special Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) court today pronounced 10 out of the 13 accused guilty in the 2002-03 blasts, which occurred in Mumbai Central, Vile Parle and Mulund. The 10 accused have been convicted under various sections of POTA, Arms Act, Explosive Substances Act and Railways Act. Other three accused have been acquitted in the case.<br/><br/>A blast had occurred in Mulund on March 13, 2003, killing 12 people and injuring 71 others. On December 6, 2002, several people were injured in a blast at McDonald's at Mumbai Central station, while a person died when a bomb attached to a cycle exploded in a market in Vile Parle on January 27, 2003.
