Postal Dept to launch ‘Speed Post Home Collection’ service in J&K

Indian Postal Department will soon launch ‘Speed Post Home Collection’ service in Jammu and Kashmir to provide better services. This was stated by Chief Postmaster General, Jammu and Kashmir Circle, John Samuel.Addressing a press conference in Jammu on Saturday he said under ‘Speed Post Home Collection’ Service a toll free number will be issued and the customers can make a call to that number for swift delivery of their posts.For better services ahead especially during inclement weather conditions, the Postal Department has also tied up with the Army Postal Services for timely delivery of the posts. He said seven new post offices will be opened across the state during this year to cater the requirements of the people.Samuel said that Department of Post will organise a mega postage stamps exhibition at Jammu titled ‘Jammu Stamps Show-2011’ from November 23rd to 26th. More than one lakh rare and valuable stamps issued by India and other countries including World’s first postage stamp ‘Penny Black’ would also be on display during the Exhibition.
