Postal Dept enhances capacity to deal with March-end rush

Postal Department has taken a slew of measures like setting up a control room and enhancing server capacity to cope with the financial year ending rush in post offices. With the financial year coming to a close, there is a rush from investors to invest in government's small savings schemes. <br/><br/>In a statement, the Postal Department said it has invoked the business continuity plan for opening of new accounts and withdrawal by customers. Additionally, small savings agents will work in offline mode wherever and whenever the core banking services (CBS) network turns sluggish owing to high-volume transactions. Moreover, all post offices across the country will conduct post office savings bank (POSB) transactions up to 10 pm today.
