Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said Postal Department is likely to start Payments Bank from March 2017. Talking to media, Mr Prasad said all 25000 departmental post offices would offer Core Banking Solutions. He said around 1000 postal ATMs will be installed over the country by 31st March 2016 and informed that 576 ATMs have already been installed and functional. Mr Prasad said 20,000 micro ATMs shall also be installed by end of this month.<br/><br/>He also said Ministry has taken all policy initiatives on call drops. He said a lot has improved but some improvement is still needed. The Minister said IT and IT enabled services have crossed 100 US billion dollars and India's share in global IT service outsourcing is 56 per cent.
