Department of Posts is also ensuring safety measures across its supply chain to protect employees and citizens.<br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent Reports, mobile Post Offices are functioning in various circles like Kerala, Telengana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and some other circles to provide essential postal and financial services. The iconic red mail vans and road transport networks are rendering yeoman Service in point to point delivery of essential medicines, Covid 19 testing kits, medical equipment including ventilators. Mail arrangements are also being made with operating cargo flights and special parcel trains to ensure timely delivery. Thousands of tones of medicines and medical equipment is being delivered in tie ups with Indian Drug Manufacturers Association, Directorate General of Health Services and online pharmaceutical companies. Postal officers and employees are working round the clock across the country to ensure timely delivery of medicines at doorsteps of hospitals and individual customers. In the context of COVID -19 situation, Department of Posts has decided to extend payment of compensation of &nbsp;10 lakhs rupees to all Postal employees including Gramin Dak Sevaks succumbing to the disease while on duty. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' Postal network is also offering facilities for bank account opening and most importantly cash withdrawal at the doorstep of the poor people using Aadhaar Enabled Payment System. It has helped people in withdrawing Direct Benefit Transfer amounts sent to them under various pension schemes, MNREGA and recently announced relief measures under PM Garib Kalyan Package. This facility has been so well accepted by common people that on 13th April, Indian Postal Payment Bank has recorded all-time high 1 lakh 9 thousand transactions valuing nearly 23 crore rupees.<br />'' <br />'' The employees of Department of Posts have pooled their savings to distribute food, dry rations and even masks to the needy in slums, migrant labourers and daily wage earners.&nbsp; In last few days, around 1 lakh food and dry ration packets have been distributed.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;<br />
