Post of President is apolitical: Ram Nath Kovind

NDA Presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind said that the post of President is apolitical and now he does not belong to any political party. He said the Constitution is the holy book of the country. <br/><br/>He said well being of the people of the country should be the highest priority. Mr. Kovind thanked the NDA and all those who supported his candidature for the President of India. <br/><br/>Mr. Ram Nath Kovind reached Vijayawada this afternoon from Hyderabad, to garner support of the MPs and MLAs of Andhra Pradesh for his election as President.<br/><br/>Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu who accompanied Mr. Kovind, said he is the most non-controversial candidate for the highest post in the country. <br/><br/>Describing Mr. Kovind as very soft spoken and knowledgeable, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has zeroed in on him because of his track record and vast knowledge in law and the Constitution of the country.<br/><br/>Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assured that all the votes from Andhra Pradesh would be cast in favour of Mr. Kovind. <br/><br/>Besides the TDP and the BJP, which are constituents of the NDA at the Centre, the main opposition party in the state, YSR Congress, has also extended unconditional support to Mr. Kovind's candidature.
