<span style="color: #222222;">To celebrate the second anniversary of POSHAN Abhiyaan, Poshan Pakhwada is being celebrated in Nagaland from 08th -22nd March of this month. The focus area of Poshan Pakhwada 2020 is 'Men for Nutrition – Increasing Male Engagement in POSHAN Abhiyaan to Improve Nutritional Indicators'.<br />''<br />''In order to create momentum towards Nutrition at the State, District, Block and Village levels, the Social Welfare Department, Nagaland is playing key role for implementation of various activities during the Poshan Pakhwada in convergence with various line departments. Marking the celebration, launching of Poshan Pakhwada was organized in all Angawandi centres and 60 project headquarters of the state on March 8. Several activities are being underway to sensitize masses towards adoption of Nutritional Behaviour at the community level, Schools, faith based organisation and local administration levels. Assistant Director Social Welfare Department and Joint Project Co-ordinator of Poshan Abhiyan Nagaland, Soren Kikon share on the activities of Poshan Pakhwada in the state.<br />''<br />''Major activities during the two weeks Poshan Pakhwada include Panchayat meetings, demonstration of Handwashing in schools and Anganwadi Centers, youth leaders meeting including the church leaders, Awareness camps for adolescent girls, school-based activities, mothers meeting, POSHAN walk, cleanliness drive in government offices, Educational Institutions, Anganwadi Centers, village and Health Nutrition day (VHND), home visits and preparation of nutritious food from the locally available foods. &nbsp;<br />''<br />''Innovative programmes have also been introduced like the POSHAN Clubs at Village level, POSHAN Youth Club, Nutrition Volunteers, and Nutrition Monitors in all schools. Special focuses are also given to newly married husband and father-in-laws and emphasizes is also being given on curbing single use plastic.</span><br />
