The portfolios of newly appointed ministers has been announced this morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps the ministry of Personel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Departments of Atomic Energy, Space under his control.
Rajnath Singh is the new Home Minister and Arun Jaitley has been given Finance ministry with additional charge of Corporate Affairs and Defence. Sushma Swaraj has been allocated External Affairs ministry while D V Sadananda Gowda, Railways.
Dr Harsh Vardhan has been given the charge of Health and Family Welfare ministry, Ravi Shankar Prasad is the minister for Communications and Information Technology and Law and Justice. Dr Najma Heptulla is the new Minority Affairs Minister with additional charge of Rural Development ministry.
M Venkiah Naidu is the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Urban Development and Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation. The Agriculture Ministry has been allocated to Radhamohan Singh and Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution to Ram Vilas Paswan. There are 23 Cabinet rank ministers excluding the Prime Minister.
Prakash Javadekar is Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting with independent charge. He will also look after the ministries of Environment, Forest, Climate Change and Parliamentary Affairs. Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman is the Minister of State with independent charge of Commerce and Industry.
Dharmendra Pradhan is the Minister of State with independent charge of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Piyush Goel, Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy. Retired General V K Singh is the Minister of State with Independent charge of Development of North Eastern Region. There are ten Ministers of State with independent charge.
Sanjeev Kumar Baliyan is the Minister of State for Agriculture with additional charge of Food Processing Industry. G M Siddeshwara is the new Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Kiren Rijiju, Home Affairs. There are 12 Ministers of State.
