Portfolios of Maharashtra Ministers announced

In Maharashtra, portfolios have been allocated to the ministers who were sworn in on Saturday along with Chief Minister Ashok Chavan. The Chief Minister will handle the Urban Development and Cultural Affairs Department while R.R. Patil has been given back the Home Department. The Revenue Department has been given back to Narayan Rane and Jayant Patil has got the Rural Development Department. Baban Rao Pachpute has been given the Tribal Development Ministry. The PWD department has been given to the Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal. Sunil Tatkare will handle the Finance Ministry and Ajit Pawar has been given the Power Department along with the Water Resources Ministry. The Higher and Technical Education Department continues to be with Rajesh Tope. The first three-day session of the 12th Maharashtra legislative assembly will start today. The first two days of the session will witness oath taken by the 287 members of the house while the Speaker will be elected and Governor will address on the third day.<br/>
