One of Japan's best known Pop groups SMAP has performed a long awaited concert in the Chinese capital Beijing. The concert in front of 40,000 fan was seen as part of an effort to ease relations between Japan and China. According to a report, there was an ecstatic welcome for a Japanese pop group in the Chinese capital. SMAP was performing their first overseas concert in a 20 year career. Politicians have been hoping the band will help improve relations between the two countries, ahead of next year's 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
