Pool can be engine of growth for cue sports in India: Ferreira

Former world billiards champion, Michael Ferreira has said that the game of pool can be an explosive engine of growth for cue sports in India. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Friday, Mr. Ferreira said that Indian cueists, who are more adept at billiards and snooker, stand in good stead to compete at the top level of pool. The four-time world champion further said that India should have a pool champion in the next 2-4 years with a little bit of planning, strategy and a high quality coach.He added that pool, being the most popular cue game in the world has a chance of making it to the Olympics rather than billiards and snooker which are confined to the Commonwealth countries.
