Union Minister of State for Road Transport Highways and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan has urged for introducing new trains to Delhi, Varanasi and Ayodhya from Kannya Kumari. He was speaking to mediapersons at Nagercoil today after travelling in extended Tiruchirapalli Thiruvananthapuram Inter-city Express. <br/><br/>The Union Minister said that he has requested Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to extend bi-weekly Tirukural express to thrice a week. AIR correspondent reports that the Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan flagged off the extended Tiruchirapalli Thiruvananthapuram intercity express today morning. He said that this day train will be a boon to passengers and traders who wants to travel to southern districts of Tirunelveli Kannya Kumari and Thiruvananthapuram. <br/><br/>This intercity express is also a direct link connecting Trichy the city of Srirangam Ranganathar and Thiruvananthapuram abode of Padmanabhaswamy. The intercity express will leave Trichy at 7:05 AM and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 3.25 PM same day. On the return direction the train will leave Thiruvannathapuram at 11.55 and reach Trichy at 8.15 in the night.
