The head of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) says, it is preparing a set of options to deal with North Korea's nuclear and missile programs in the event that diplomacy fails. CIA Director Mike Pompeo made the remark in an interview carried on the US news website the Washington Free Beacon. <br/><br/>Pompeo was asked about North Korea's ambition to deploy an intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach the mainland US. Pompeo said the CIA knows North Korea gets closer to that goal with each launch, whether it's a success or a failure. He said the real threat is that they can launch a missile mounted with a nuclear warhead in a reliable way. <br/><br/>Pompeo said may be previous US administrations had more time to tackle the issue. But he said that from an intelligence perspective, it is not the case now.
