National Green Tribunal today issued notices and sought reply from Ministry of Environment and forest, Delhi government, Uttar Pradesh government and other bodies over the issue of pollution in Yamuna.<br/><br/>A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar also issued notices and sought reply from Central Pollution Control Board, state pollution control boards of both states and others. <br/><br/>It asked them to reply within two weeks. The matter has now been listed for hearing on January 20, 2017.<br/><br/>It was hearing a plea that alleged that untreated sewage and industrial effluents were being discharged into<br/>river Yamuna through two major storm water drains at Sahibabad and Indrapuri and Banthla canal.
