Polls underway for Bastar LS by-election; 20 officials missing in Dantewada

Around 22 per cent polling has been reported by till noon in the bye-election to the Bastar Lok sabha seat in Chhattisgarh. Besides the Congress, the BJP and the CPI five other candidates are also in the fray. More than 1700 polling centres have been set up across the Bastar division where about 12 lakh voters are to exercise their franchise by 4 pm today. Meanwhile, about 20 officials engaged in election duty in the Bastar bye-poll in Chhattisgarh are reportedly missing since this morning from the Katekalyan area of Dantewada district. Police parties have been pressed into service to trace them.
