Polls to elect 17th German Bundestag on Sunday

<br/>German Chancellor Angela Merkel hopes to secure a second four-year term as political parties in the country held their final campaign rallies before parliamentary elections on Sunday .Around 62.2 million voters will go to the polls to elect the 17th Bundestag, the lower house of parliament. They will pick up around 600 members of parliament for the new house from 3,500 candidates representing 27 parties contesting in the election. The Chancellor Angela Merkel looks almost certain to secure a second four-year term even though the final opinion polls unanimously forecast a close race between the centre-right and centre-left parties.
