Polls in Odisha tomorrow for 10 LS and 70 Assembly seats

In Odisha, elections to 10 Lok Sabha and 70 Assembly constituencies will be held tomorrow. The Election Commission has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conducting of the polls. Odisha is going for polls tomorrow in 10 Lok Sabha and 70 Assembly constituencies spread over western and southern parts of the state. More than 1.35 crore voters will exercise their democratic right to elect their Members of Lok Sabha from 98 candidates and MLAs from 673 candidates. The poll process will begin from 7 in the morning in 17,266 booths.

The fate of BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, former Odisha Chief Ministers of Congress party Giridhar Gamang and Hemananda Biswal, former Union Minister Jual Oram, state BJP president KV Singh Deo will be decided in this phase of election. The Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements in Maoist-hit districts like Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Rayagada, Bolangir, Bargarh and Sambalpur. As many as 429 companies of state police in addition to 156 companies of Central paramilitary forces and three helicopters have been deployed for this phase of polls.
