In Maharashtra, polling would be held tomorrow for seven seats of the Local Bodies' Constituencies to elect new members of State Legislative Council. Bharatiya Janata Party State Unit Spokesman Mr. Girish Vyas has already been declared elected unopposed to Legislative Council from Nagpur Local Bodies Constituency. The Nagpur seat is included amongst the total eight seats of the Self-Government Bodies going in for polls tomorrow.<br/><br/>For the two seats in Mumbai, there are three candidates in fray including State Environment Minister Mr. Ramdas Kadam of Shiv Sena and Mr. Bhai Jagtap of Congress along with the NCP rebel candidate Mr. Prasad Lad.<br/><br/>In case of the Akola-Washim-Buldhana seat, there would be a straight contest between the sitting member Mr. Gopikishan Bajoria of Shiv Sena and Mr. Ravi Sapkal of the Nationalist Congress Party, while it would also be a direct fight between the sitting Congress member Mr. Amrish Patel and Mr. Dr. Shashikant Wani of BJP in Dhule-Nandurbar Constituency.<br/><br/>The sitting member Mr. Mahadev Mahadik, who is contesting as an independent candidate supported by the BJP would vie with Mr. Satej Patil of the Congress for the Kolhapur seat. In Solapur, Mr. Deepak Salunke of NCP will face Mr. Prashant Paricharak, an independent backed by the BJP and Shiv Sena. In addition, Mr. Arun Jagtap of NCP and Mr. Shashikant Gade of Shivsena would be engaged in the electoral battle for the Ahmednagar seat.<br/><br/>The term of outgoing Legislative Council members ends on January 1, 2016. They include four Congress members Mr. Amrish Patel from Dhule-Nandurbar, Mr. Mahadev Mahadik from Kolhapur, Mr. Rajendra Mulak from Nagpur and Mr. Bhai Jagtap from Mumbai. Two Shiv Sena members including State Environment Minister Mr. Ramdas Kadam from Mumbai and Mr. Gopikishan Bajoria from Akola-Washim-Buldhana would also retire on the same day. Mr. Deepak Salunke of NCP from Solapur and NCP-backed Independent Mr. Arun Jagtap from Ahmednagar are also due to retire on the day.
