Polling is underway for the sixth and final phase of assembly elections in West Bengal. Voting is taking place in 14 constituencies spread over parts of West Midnapur, Bankura and Purulia districts in this phase. 97 candidates are in the fray. The polling, which started at 7 am, will ends at 3 pm. Elaborate Security arrangemnts have been made to ensure free and fair polls. Besides existing Central forces, 650 companies of Central Paramilitary forces have been deployed. Three helicopters have been kept ready for air surveillance. Anti-land mines vehicles, Satellite phones and advance communication equipment are also in place to check subversive activities during voting.
