In Tamil Nadu, polling at Tiruchendur and Vandavasi constituencies began at a brisk note this morning.<br/><br/>In Trichendur, the polling percentage till now is 34.3 percent and at Vandavasi it is 30. 5 percentage.<br/><br/>The election commission has made arrangements for live recording for the entire poll proceedings at all the 196 polling stations In Tiruchendur and 217 polling stations in Vandavasi Constituencies.<br/><br/>Sim cards have been provided to booth level officers for poll monitoring through sms.<br/><br/>Eleven companies of police force have been deployed to ensure free and fair polls.<br/><br/>By election to the Tiruchendur Assembly seat was necessitated after the resignation of Mr.Anitha R.Radhakrishnan who defected from the AIADMK to the ruling DMK.<br/><br/>The death of DMK MLA Jayaraman has caused the vacancy in Vandavasi and his son has been fielded by the DMK in this constituency<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that both the constituencies are witnessing a three cornered contest involving the ruling DMK, the main Opposition AIADMK and the DMDK, led by actor Vijaykant. It is to be noted that AIADMK had boycotted the by polls for five seats which was held on August 18th this year. <br/><br/>Also to be noted is that PMK which was an ally of the ruling DMK during the last assembly polls switched over to AIADMK alliance during the general elections this year. Now, the PMK is out of the alliance and stands neutral, but the CPI, CPM and MDMK continue to be the alliance partner of AIADMK.<br/>
