Heavy to moderate polling is being recorded in the sixth phase of ongoing polls to 117 Lok Sabha constituencies of 11 states and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
West Bengal recorded the highest polling so far with 63 percent votes cast when reports last came in. Assam recorded 61 percent polling so far in 6 Lok Sabha seats.
In Chhattisgarh smooth polling is continuing and 40 percent voter turn out was recorded.
Tamil Nadu recorded over 47 percent polling in all districts in the single phase election to 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
In Madhya Pradesh over 42 percent polling has been recorded.
In Rajasthan, about 47 percent of voters cast their votes for the 5 Lok Sabha constituencies till 3 PM. Maximum Voters turn out of 52 percent was in Alwar constituency. No untoward incident has been reported so far.
Uttar Pradesh, recorded 35-40 percent polling for 12 constituencies.
For 7 seats in Bihar 37 percent voter turnout was recorded till 1 p.m .
In Jammu and Kashmir polling started picking up in most parts of Anatnaag Parliamentary constituency after low turnout in the morning. In Puducherry the turn out was nearly 54 percent till 1 p.m.
In Jharkhand around 40 percent polling recorded for 4 Lok Sabha seats till last reported.
In Maharashtra, polling is under way for 19 Lok Sabha seats in the third and final phase of Lok Sabha elections which began today morning. According to Election Commission sources, the average polling in Maharashtra till 1 pm was recorded 27 percent. Highest voting 35 percent was in Nandurbar constituency and lowest of 19 percent was in Bhiwandi constituency.
