In Gujarat, polling for six Municipal Corporations begins with peace full note this morning under tight security arrangements. Polling is being held for the General Elections of six Municipal Corporations of the state which are Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Bhavnagar. More than 2 thousand candidates are in fray for 558 seats in 186 wards. BJP and Congress are contesting on all seats while Nationalist Congress Party is contesting 136 and Mahagujarat Janata Party is contesting 86 seats among with others. More than 86 thousand voters are eligible to cast their vote. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that total 10,440 polling booths have been set up, out of which -2647 have been identified as sensitive and – 774 have been identified as extra sensitive. Problems of technical snag have been reported from many areas during the early hours of polling.
