In Pakistan, polling for the National Assembly seat, which was left vacant by Nawaz Sharif's ouster in the Panama verdict, ended in the Lahore constituency where Pakistan's ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz is contesting as the ruling PML-N candidate. <br/><br/>A close contest is expected between Kulsoom and cricket-turned-politician Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate Dr Yasmin Rashid. Long queues were seen outside the polling stations as people came out to cast their vote as early as 8 am. A total of 44 candidates are contesting for the National Assembly seat from Lahore. Pakistan Army personnel are supervising the polling process.
