The Polling has begun on a peaceful note a short while ago in the first elections being held for Hyderabad Municipal Corporation after its formation into greater Hyderabad. <br/>Tight security arrangements have been made at about 7 thousand Polling stations set up with as many as 13,347 Electronic Voting Machines put in place. About 57 lakh voters will exercise their franchise to elect 150 corporaters. A total 1310 candidates, out of which 403 woman are in the municipal election fray. Over 40 thousand polling staff and 20,000 police have been pressed into service. <br/>The state Election Commission has appointed 600 micro observers for the first time to keep a watch on over 1600 sensitive polling stations where the entire polling process is being video graphed. The polling will continue till 5 PM.<br/>The counting of votes will be taken place on 26th of this month and the Mayor will be elected on 4th next month. <br/>
