In Rajasthan Polling has started for election of 8 municipalities of Bharatpur distt. and for by election of chairperson of Bhilwara municipal council. total 897 candidates are in the fray for 192 posts of ward member and chairman.Adequate security arrangements have been made for free and fair polling. AIR correspondent Anurag Vajpai reports that today more than 2 lakh 52 thousand voters of Bhilwara and 8 towns of Bharatpur would register fate of 897 candidates in electronic voting machines.For the by election of Bhilwara municipal councils chairperson 4 candidates are in fray.For 8 municipalities of Bharatpur distt. there is direct election for chairman for the first time and voters are casting 2 votes simultaneously one for chairman and one for ward member.810 candidates are contesting for 180 posts of ward members while 83 are contesting for the post of chairman of 8 municipalities.24 women candidates are also in fray. Administration has made tight security arrangements and deputed 71 magistrates for free and fair polling.
