Twenty three per cent polling has been recorded till eleven this morning in the fourth phase of Assembly elections in Jharkhand. Voting had begun on a peaceful note in all the 14 constituencies at seven this morning. In this phase, Over 24 and a half lakh voters will decide the electoral fortune of 233 candidates in the fray from 14 seats. The Maoists, having a huge presence in all the constituencies, have given a call to boycott the polls. Our correspondent reports that around 40,000 jawans and officers have been deployed to ensure free, fair and peaceful polling. Air surveillance in the poll-bound areas is on and adequate reserve strike force is in place to face any eventuality.Meanwhile, two BSF jawans were injured in Gumla district last night when a truck carrying them overturned.
