Polling for 4th phase begins in Jharkhand

Polling began on a peaceful note at all the 14 constituencies at 7 this morning for the fourth round of assembly elections in Jharkhand. Over 24 and a half lakh voters will decide the electoral fortune of 233 candidates in fray from 14 seats. Maoists, who have given an election boycott call have huge presence in all the constituencies. AIR correspondent reports that around 40,000 jawans and officers have been deployed for free, fair and peaceful polling. Air surveillance in the poll-bound areas is on and there is adequate reserve strike force to face any eventuality.Meanwhile, two BSF jawans were injured in Gumla district on Friday when a truck carrying them overturned.
