In Uttar Pradesh, polling for 3rd phase of three tier Panchayat Elections will be held on 22nd of this month. A total of 13 thousand 488 Gram Panchayats spread over 211Blocks will go for poll in this phase.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports in view of the festivals of Dusshera and Durga Puja, the polling date for the third phase had been revised. Earlier it was scheduled on today. A total of 3 lakhs 39 thousand 315 candidates are in fray and 81 thousand 679 have been declared elected unopposed.The State Election commission has directed all divisional commissioners and Inspector General of Police to visit sensitive and hyper sensitive polling booths and insure peaceful polling.Meanwhile, more than 66 percent voters have exercised their franchise in repolling at 79 polling booths held today where votes were cast in 2nd phase of polling. It was by and large peaceful.
