In Uttar Pradesh, polling concluded for the second round of the first phase of civic elections amidst tight security arrangements today. The polling was held in 17 districts of the state including Meerut, Etawah, Moradabad, Ballia, Varanasi, Deoria and Fatehpur.In this round, more than 88 lakh voters decided the fate of 1521 Mayoral candidates and Heads of Nagar Palikas along with 12,985 candidates for the post of Corporators. The polling process went on peacefully with exceptions of some minor incidents.
