Polling begins in Himachal Pradesh to elect 68 member assembly

Polling is picking up in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections with about 28 per cent voting reported in the first four hours.The main contest is between the BJP and the Congress and political fate of their leaders including Veerbhadra Singh and Prem Kumar Dhumal will be decided in today's voting.

AIR correspondent reports, the 96-years-old, Sham Saran Negi and his wife were the first to vote in Kinnaur district. Senior BJP Leader, Shanta Kumar and BJP state president Satpal Sati, Union Minister, Anand Sharma and former state Congress president, Kaul Singh Thakur have also cast their votes.
