Polling for third and final phase of local body elections in Nepal has begun. More than 26 lakh voters are expected to exercise their franchise to elect 136 local bodies in Province 2. AIR correspondent reports that voting is progressing peacefully. <br/><br/>Voters in Tarai are enthusiastically taking part in the local elections being held after a gap of 20 years. In most of the places people reached polling stations before 7 'o Clock. <br/><br/>3578 polling centres have been set up in 8 districts of province 2 for the third phase. Over 37000 candidates trying their luck for 6627 posts of local representatives. Elaborate security arrangements have been made for free, fair and peaceful elections. Nepal-India border is sealed and more than 60000 security personnel have been deployed for elections.
