Polling begins for 75 seats in West Bengal for third phase of Assembly elections

In West Bengal, voting has begun for 3rd phase of Assembly elections in 75 seats covering Kolkata, North and South 24 Parganas districts amidst tight security. Over one crore 44 lakhs 55 thousand electorate will decide the political fate of 479 candidates. More than 17 thousand 7 hundred polling booths have been set up in three districts. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that the fate of 12 ministers including Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee, Finance Minister Dr. Asim Dasgupta, Housing Minister Gautam Dev, Land and Land Revenue Minister Abdul Razaq Mullah will be decided today. On the other hand the prominent candidates of the opposition side are the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly Partha Chatterjee, former Secretary General of FICCI Amit Mitra, Mayor of Kolkata Sovan Chatterjee and Bengali Actress Debasree Roy.
