The first result from Tripura has gone in favour of sitting CPIM member Jashabir Tripura from Jolaibari reserved constituency. He has defeated his Congress rival Brajendra Mog Chaudhuri of the Congress in a straight contest by a margin of over 9000
votes.
The latest trends in the state indicate that the ruling Left Front is leading in 43 seats and Congress in seven. Others are leading in two.
In Meghalaya, the Congress candidate Deborah C. Marak has won from William Nagar constituency by a margin of 2000 votes over his nearest rival Jonathone N. Sangma, Independent. The latest trend shows that Congress is leading in 22 constituencies, United Democratic Party in four, HSPDP in three, NCP and Nationalist Peoples Party in one each. Others are leading in eight seats.
In Nagaland, R. Tsapikiu Sangtam of Naga Peoples Front has won from Pughoboto constituency by defeating Indian National Congress candidate over 2200 votes.

Latest trends show that the Naga Peoples Front is leading in 17 constituencies, Congress in 8, NCP-3, JDU – one and others four. Counting for one assembly constituency Tuensang Sadar-I has been countermanded due to the death of Congress candidate and sitting member P. Chuba Chang.
