The CPI today said the assembly election results reflected a strong resentment among the people against government policies. Terming the results as a disaster for the Congress, CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta said they showed that there is strong resentment among the people against the policies pursued by the government.

CPI had contested several seats in Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab but failed to open an account anywhere.
