Accusing Election Commission of inaction, the BJP leader Narendra Modi today said the poll panel failed to check violence and rigging during elections in West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing an election rally at Asansol, West Bengal, Mr.Modi said, false cases have been filed against the BJP candidate Babul Supriyo, who is fighting the Lok Sabha election from Asansol Constituency.
Stating that the Election Commission's work is to protect people, Mr. Modi requested the poll panel to fulfill their responsibilities in the right way.
He said, the poll watchdog has all the government machinery at its disposal and more powers than even the Prime Minister and hence, it is the responsibility of the EC to ensure impartial polls.
