Congress General-Secretary Rahul Gandhi met leaders from Uttar Pradesh to ascertain the reasons of party's debacle in the state. He asked the leaders to regularly maintain contact with grass-root level workers. He gave hints that tough steps would be taken to strengthen the party in the state.The Congress has also taken up the exercise of analysing the causes of its defeat in Punjab. A three-member high-level committee headed by Defence Minister AK Antony on Friday separately heard party leaders from the state and discussed steps to revamp the party.
