Poll campaigns for coming Assembly elections are gearing up in four States. In Tamil Nadu, as many as 1,153 nominations were rejected by the returning officers across the State for various reasons during scrutiny of papers on Monday.AIR correspondent says that the top leaders have switched constituencies in this election. The final list of candidates will be known on Wednesday, the last day for withdrawal of nominations. For next month's Assembly poll in Kerala, 1185 nomination papers have been found to be in order by the Election Commission. Wednesday is the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers for the April 13th poll. AIR correspondent reports that all the major parties have further stepped up campaigning in the state.” In Assam, poll campaign is gaining momentum in Barak valley with senior leaders of major political parties visiting the area. Senior Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee is to address election meeting in Silchar area today and will move to Upper Assam on Wednesday. BJP leader Sushma Swaraj is also visiting the Bengali dominated valley today. In West Bengal, the Election Commission transferred one District Magistrate and three senior Police Officers in West Bengal ahead of assembly elections in the State.
