In Uttar Pradesh, electioneering is becoming fierce in 114 constituencies of Central, Terai and Eastern regions as top political leaders of national parties held several rallies in these areas on Monday. Polling for these two phases is to be held on 8th and 11th February. Addressing a rally in Maharajganj district, Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav said that his party has no alliance with the BJP in the State and is contesting on all 403 assembly seats. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar started his campaign from Sewarahi seat of Kushinagar district. Congress spokesman Rashid Alvi held rally in Siddharthanagar in support of his party's candidate.Meanwhile, nomination for the fifth phase is in progress. Scrutiny of nomination papers for the third phase was also held today. Nomination papers of a few independent candidates were rejected during the scrutiny. The election for 403 seats of state assembly is being held in seven phases between 8th February and 3rd March.
