In Uttar Pradesh, poll authorities raided the BJP office at Sigra area in Varanasi and seized T Shirts and other publicity materials in a huge quantity allegedly meant for distribution to the electorates.

Flying squad magistrate and Police seized an unnumbered car packed with the material. Poll authorities said the raid and searches were made after receiving complaints.

AIR correspondent reports that the BJP workers protested against the raid and raised slogans against district administration and police.
