Politics should never override decision-making: PM to IAS officers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged young IAS officers to inculcate team spirit and work towards breaking silos, in whatever capacity they serve. Mr Modi said that politics should not override their decision-making. He said, their decisions should never be counter to national interest and the decisions should not harm the poorest of the poor. <br/><br/>The Prime Minister was speaking to the IAS officers of the 2014 batch who completed their attachments as Assistant Secretaries in the Union Government. Mr Modi said, <br/>the attachment had been envisaged as a mechanism that will bring the best out of the blend of youth and experience. <br/><br/>On the occasion, eight selected presentations on various themes of governance were made by the officers. It includes DBT, Swachh Bharat, e-Courts, Tourism, Health and Satellite Applications in Governance. <br/><br/>Mr Modi said, the results as presented today, gave him satisfaction that the vision of attaching newly recruited officers in the Centre is well on the road to realization. The Prime Minister complimented the young officers for their in-depth presentations.
