Political stalemate in Karnataka continues; No change in leadership say BJP sources in Delhi

The deadlock between the rival factions of BJP in Karnataka continues. While the group led by the Chief Minister Mr.Yeddyurappa is ready to accommodate the nominee of the rival group as the Deputy Chief Minister in the Cabinet, the group led by Jagdish Shetter is insisting on his removal. The BJP leaders close to Yeddyurappa led by the Home Minister Mr.V.S.Acharya met the senior BJP leader, Mr.L.K.Advani in New Delhi today and tried to convince him against change of leadership in Karnataka. Meanwhile, the rival group led by the Speaker, Mr.Jagdish Shetter met the party pointsman in Karnataka, Mr.Arun Jaitley in New Delhi and pressed for their demand for removal of Mr.Yeddyurappa.
The Chief Minister has accused dissidents of attempting to destabilise his government at a time when the State is grappling with the worst ever disaster. He expressed hope that the crisis will blow over. On the other hand, the rival faction leader and Power Minister, Mr.K.S.Eshwarappa today said the Chief Minister has failed to live up to the expectations of the people.
Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sriramulu declared that they will abide by the Central leadership on differences that have cropped up between them and Yeddurappa. But he complained that CM does not listen to his cabinet colleagues. BJP sources say CM and Reddy brothers are likely to proceed to Delhi after Union Home Minister Chidambaram's Programme in the Karnataka on Monday.
Party sources in Delhi however, said there will be no change in the leadership of Karnataka and Mr.Yeddurappa will continue as the Chief Minister of State.
