The political situation in Karnataka is still fluid even as Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa dropped two prominent dissident ministers from his cabinet on Thursday.Negotiation to end dissidence continues but there is no progress so far.Legislative party meeting of Congress and BJP was held in Bangaluru today. After the meeting the Congress Party State President R V Deshpande informed that they have no intention of toppling the Government but will vote against the Government on Monday on the floor of the House.BJP senior leader Venkaiah Naidu assured that the dissidence within the party will be quelled and Yeddyurappa will be able to prove majority on Monday.An official statement issued by Karnataka Assembly Secretary A B Patil said the seventh session of the 13th Karnataka Assembly would begin on Monday, at 10 AM.The session comes in the wake of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa requesting Governor H R Bharadwaj to convene the house on October 11, after a rebellion by 19 legislators including 13 BJP MLAs who withdrew support to the government.AIR correspondent reports, the efforts to end dissidence in Karnataka remain inconclusive.Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy has now gone to Goa to hold talks with the dissidents. On the other hand Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa held Legislative party meeting in Bangaluru.Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed hope that a solution will be in sight by Thursday night.The situation being fluid, it is extremely difficult to say at this point whether the BJP Government will survive or not.Two rebel legislatures Bellubbi and Nagaraj are said to have dropped the banner of revolt and stated support for the Yeddyurappa Government.On Thursday morning the BJP state Party President Eeshwarappa blamed the JD(S) and congress for corrupting the minds of their Legislatures and expressed confidence that rebels will return to support the government.
