Political parties trying to woo tea garden voters in North Bengal

<span style="color: #222222;">All candidates in the three districts of North Bengal- Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Siliguri going to the polls in the 5th phase, are trying to woo tea garden voters. Like the 4th phase of polls, there are sizeable tea garden voters in the 5th phase. The 5th phase of election will be held on 17th of this month.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Political parties have promised daily wage hike and land rights to the tea garden workers. Darjeeling region is known for the production of premium tea. It is  home of nearly 80 tea gardens. The BJP has mentioned granting of 1000 crore rupees in the Union Budget for the development of the tea garden workers in Assam and West Bengal.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The ruling TMC has highlighted the Chaa Sundari project and 150 crore rupees  special package  declared by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the budget. Political observers said that along with hike in daily wages, tea workers also needed improvement in basic facilities including sanitation and education.</span>
