In Nepal, the three main political parties the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have decided to bring the Maoist combatants and the camps under the Special Committee for Integration, Supervision and Rehabilitation.The meeting has been called by Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday in abide to give momentum to the peace process. The Maoists also agreed to handover the keys of the container containing the weapons to the Special Committee Secretariat. Nepali Congress leader Ram Sharan Mahat said that the Special Committee is to be given the responsibility to look after the combatants and their camps.The stalled peace process has been a sticking point with the political parties and the new Prime Minister has started to try to put in track .The Maoist has said they will finish the peace process within forty five days . The Nepali Congress has said support to the government would depend on the progress of the peace process.Meanwhile Prime Minister Bhatarai on Wednesday met with the CPN-UML Chairman JhalaNath Khanal in bid to continue his efforts for forming a consensus government. Mr. Khanal said it would not be possible to join his government but would support the efforts to for the peace process and constitution drafting.
