Political parties of Janata Dal family will meet in New Delhi today to discuss the modalities for their merger and forming a new political outfit. These parties include, Janata Dal (United), Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janta Dal, Janata Dal (Secular) and Indian National Lok Dal. It is believed that if consensus evolves, the new party will be named as Samajwadi Janata Dal.
The meeting will be attended by SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, JD(U) leaders Shard Yadav and Nitiesh Kuamr, RJD chief Lalu Prasad, HD Deve Gowda of JD(S) and INLD’s Dushyant Chautala. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, JD(U) leader KC Tyagi said, during the meeting, the parties will decide the programmes and policies to be taken up further.
