In Assam, political parties have mustered their full strength to woo voters. AIR correspondent reports that stars campaigners of different political parties including Congress, BJP, Asom Gana Parishad and All India United Democratic Front are addressing a series of meetings in support of their candidates. The second and the concluding phase of elections in the state will be held in 64 constituencies on April 11. The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is scheduled to address two election meetings in Barpetta and Darang districts of the state this afternoon. Addressing election rallies at Nalbari, Senior BJP Leader Lal Krishna Advani alleged that the Congress Government have totally failed to combat rise of essential commodities for which lives of the downtrodden section have become miserable. Senior leader of Asom Gana Parishad Prafulla Kumar Mahanta said that people of Assam want political change in the state.
