In Assam, most of the political parties have declared list of candidates for the ensuing Assembly election scheduled to be held on 4th and 11th of next month. The last date of filing nominations for the first phase has been fixed on 17th of this month. So far, one Asom Gana Parishad candidate has submitted nomination papers. But it is expected to pick up from today onwards. The last date of cancellation of nomination is on 21st of this month. State Election Department sources said, 20 Expenditure and a few General Observers reached Assam toady. The Election Commission already appointed 20 Expenditure and 52 General Observers for the upcoming Assembly polls to monitor violation of model code of conduct and expenditure related issues.
