Political parties have criticised Union Minister V K Singh for his reported remarks that the government cannot be held responsible if somebody stones a dog. Mr. Singh reportedly stated this while trying to shield the Haryana government from blame in the Faridabad Dalit burning incident. He however, clarified that his statement was not intended to draw an analogy.<br/><br/>Terming Mr. Singh's remarks as shocking and condemnable, Congress demanded his resignation from the government. Party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said, there should be a criminal case against V K Singh.<br/><br/>Aam Aadmi Party convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that V K Singh's statement is shameful and prosecutable under Scheduled Castes Prevention of Atrocities Act. He said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should remove him from his Council of Ministers.<br/><br/>Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar tweeted that he is aghast at the senseless comment made by the Union Minister on tragic Dalit killings in Haryana.<br/><br/>On the other hand, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, V K Singh has already clarified and one should not blow the whole thing out of proportion.
