In Tamilnadu, leaders of various political parties have condemned the publishing of a cartoon picture published in the twelfth standard book prescribed for political science students by the NCERT.

MDMK Secretary Mr.Vaiko today said that the cartoon shows the Hindi agitation in a bad light.

Speaking to newsmen, he said that he had written a letter to the Union Minister for HRD,Mr.Kapil Sibal on the issue.

He said that a representation has been given to the Director of NCERT in this connection and he had promised to send the text book to the review comittee.

The DMK party spokesperson Mr.T.K.S.Elangovan and Mr.Thol Thirumavalavan also reiterated that book needs a review.The PMK founder Dr.Ramadoss in a statement issued in Chennai has also demanded that the cartoon should be withdrawn.
