Political crisis further deepens in AP over Telangana issue

The political crisis has further deepened in Andhra Pradesh with about 20 ministers deciding to resign protesting against Centre’s decision over Telangana issue. These Ministers who belong to Rayalaseema and Coastal Regions have met in Hyderabad and decided to quit in protest against the Centre’s decision on the issue. However Chief Minister Rosaiah appealed them not to take any decision in haste as he has conveyed their feelings to the party High Command.On the other hand, in the backdrop of continuing resignations by MLAs and other public representatives of Coastal and Rayalaseema regions, the MLAs and MPs belonging to Telangna Region are meeting in Hyderabad today to discuss the future course of action and not as rendered.Telangana Rashtra Samiti, TRS President Chandrasekhara Rao told a Private channel that the responsibility of formation of Telangana state rests with the central government. He also said there was no need for a resolution from the assembly as its was only a formality for the Union Government to keep the state Assembly informed.Meanwhile, the Government is seeking legal opinion to tide over the crisis in the wake of 138 MLAs tendering resignations en-masse.Tension prevailed due to Bandh that continued for the second day yesterday turned violent at several places in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. Life was affected in these regions especially Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada cities. Additional police forces were sent to all the districts in these areas to maintain Law and Order.Meanwhile, the Centre has sought a report from the Chief Minister on the situation in coastal and Rayalaseema Regions.
